  • Who is Home Nations Lions for?
Home Nations Lions is open to anyone who currently plays lacrosse in any capacity, and is looking to get involved in an elite and competitive mixed lacrosse squad.
  • How can I get involved with HNL?
We'd love to hear from you if you're interested in getting involved with HNL! If you are a player and would like to come to trial with us at a Squad Weekend, please get in touch with us via our Contact page. If you're looking to work with us either as a member of staff or as a volunteer, please also visit our Contact page where one of our Leadership Team will be in touch with you.
  • Where do you play and how often?
Our training grounds are at the Oxford Academy in Oxford, and we hold Squad Weekends here during the final weekend of every month.
  • I play men's lacrosse but have never played mixed before - would I still qualify to trial?
Absolutely! The skills from the men's game transition nicely to mixed, with the main difference being the stick (we play with women's sticks) and the rules (we play the women's non-contact rules).
  • Are there any safety concerns with men playing with women?
As with all forms of lacrosse, there are strict rules in place to keep the game as safe as possible. The men who play with us are all familiar with mixed lacrosse, with some only coming from a mixed lax background, and others being a part of men's leagues as well as playing mixed. Our top priority is keeping all our players safe so although the men's rules allow for more aggressive play, the men who play with us are fully aware of the mixed lacrosse rules.
  • I'd like to learn more about HNL but I'm not sure if I'd be interested in joining just yet - who can I speak to to get some more information?
If you're still unsure if you'd like to trial with HNL and would like to have a chat with one of our Leadership team or coaches, please contact us via our Contact page or via our Instagram or Facebook. We'd love to hear from you and answer any questions you have about Lions!
