Our Story
The Beginning of Lions...
Harry Dobson came up with the idea for Lions after watching the British and Irish Rugby Lions. He was inspired to set up a
mixed lacrosse equivalent, where elite players from the UK and Ireland could come together to play lacrosse, with the intention of entering 'Home Nations Lions Lacrosse' into a lacrosse tournament in the Czech Republic.
The original squad weekend took place in October 2020, and despite strict COVID restrictions in place, the weekend was a success. Players from all over the country travelled to take part, including existing members of national teams. From there, Lions faced some challenges, with COVID restrictions cancelling our inaugural tour, but it was nothing we couldn't handle: the movement had already taken flight.
